Designed to guide our efforts to ‘achieve a better and more sustainable future for all’, the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have inspired many organizations to create impact, enabling universities to engage with wider stakeholder groups to produce the greater good.
Taipei Medical University has a long history of supporting the development agenda of communities around the world. With a specific focus on improving the quality of life and healthcare, TMU is committed to contributing to the SDGs through the following actions:
- Building capacity of health professionals in areas in need;
- Equipping the locals with knowledge and skills to benefit their health management;
- Facilitating multilateral exchange and sharing of resources and expertise;
- Enhancing our collective understanding in health, education, and science.
With the mission of cultivating talents and servicing the society, TMU has developed a blueprint guiding our actions to fulfill the University’s social responsibility. TMU is driven by its core values and committed to providing dedicated social services, positively influencing society, promoting human health and well-being. To develop a friendly environment where one could practice social services, TMU has introduced plans, courses, systems and related incentive measures to empower teachers and students. At the same time, it integrates the resources of the University, its affiliated hospitals, biotechnology businesses and external organizations, cultivating its members to become global citizens who care about human well-being with a sense of social responsibility and the ability to deliver. TMU hopes to expand its role in both international discussions and local dialogues, as well as strengthen its current efforts in creating a positive social impact.
