【Registration Now Open】2026 Taiwan–Japan Sustainable Health Forum: “Where Does Health Begin? From Food and Biodiversity to Socia

Where does health truly begin? Food systems, the natural environment, and social conditions not only affect food security and biodiversity, but also profoundly shape the health and well-being of every individual.

Taipei Medical University will host the “2026 Taiwan–Japan Sustainable Health Forum” on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Under the theme “Where Does Health Begin? From Food and Biodiversity to Social Equity,” the forum will explore the close relationship between sustainable development and human health from an international perspective.

The forum will feature two distinguished experts with extensive experience in the United Nations and Japanese diplomacy. Kazuo Tase, Founder and CEO of SDG Partners, former member of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Minister’s Secretariat, and former United Nations official, will deliver a presentation entitled “From Natural Capital to Human Health,” re-examining food systems and biodiversity through the lens of human security.

Miki Yoshimura, formerly a government partnerships specialist at the Washington Office of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), will present “Can We Eat Well While Eating Enough?” and share insights into food security, nutritional inequality, and inclusive health governance.

Both presentations will be delivered in English. Faculty members and students interested in sustainable health, food security, and social equity are warmly invited to attend.
